I love the Southern tradition of throwing a "Recipe Shower" for the blushing bride-to-be; each guest brings a favorite family recipe, along with a gift that will expedite the process (like a pasta maker for Nana's ravioli or a bottle of cognac for those sautéed mushrooms Dad makes every Christmas). But the very best gift for a girl getting so many recipes is a chic receptacle for them, which is precisely where this divine box from
sugar paper comes in! Aren't the scalloped recipe cards adorable?
How did you keep track of all your favorite recipes? While I have a book with some family legends, most of my dishes are saved in the "Recipes" file on my computer!
I tried to collect some recipes from friends when I got married, didn't have such a chic (and hot pink, I love it) receptacle though. My fave recipes are either in scattered sheets or post-it (can I use the plural for post-it?). Now I'm dreaming of that hot pink box. All the best, talk soon :)

Oh, this is a fantastic idea for a gift!!! I keep mine in a recipe book that my mom started filling out for me years ago. There's something quite appealing about adding a pretty recipe box into the mix, though.
ReplyDeleteI have a recipe box but... have yet to actually keep recipes in it, oops!
ReplyDeletei loove the idea of a recipe shower! i have a few recipes from my mom-- she gave me a vintage box for my last birthday but i need to find new cards (the ones she gave me are pretty outdated...70s but not cute 70s :) ah well, in time. i love the scalloped cards! have a wonderful day! xoxo jcd
ReplyDeleteohhh i LOVE the scalloped recipe cards, it's a really cute touch!! i keep all my recipes on a word document on my computer... haah! i also do have a box full of them too!!
ReplyDeleteI love the scalloped edges. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteI keep all mine in a binder with plastic sleeves. I've had about a 5 year subscription to cooking light so I tear out a lot of magazine pages!
aww this is really pretty! My ladies did the same idea but gave me a really fun recipe book from Anthropologie to hold all the recipe cards. Then they threw in pretty Anthro baking accessories - best idea ever. Recipe Showers are my favorite:)!
ReplyDeleteThis recipe box is DARLING! I keep mine in a file folder in my buffet. I've never heard of recipe showers but they're a great idea!

I only have one recipe that is actually written on a card! And it's on our fridge. My bff got a recipe box at her bridal shower and she was really excited. Our guest book was taken from the recipe box design so we can easily use it for that purpose should we ever receive good recipes on paper. We have tons of leftover cards and nothing about it actually says bride and groom so I think we're all good to go!
ReplyDeleteIt's darling!!
ReplyDeletethats one cute recipe box!! I have handwritten recipes, magazine recipes, etc in a shoe box. I think I need to upgrade!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks simply adorable! There's no better gift than a bunch of secret-tasty recipes.

This is a lovely idea and I know that I cherish my recipe box. It's filled with sweet recipes for baked goods passed down by my Grandma. My mom also included some of my favorites and I use these recipes often!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a recipe shower before! What a fun idea! This box is so darling and I love the scalloped dividers. I also recently read about a "Stock the Cellar" shower on Weddingbee! A bottle of wine from everyone, and a little note attached about how they discovered it!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. See, I still appreciate pink! ;)
ReplyDeleteHot pink, cute recipe cards, and yummy recipes...this is perfect! I currently keep all of my recipes in about five different places, I would love to put them all together in a cute little recipe box like this!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a recipe shower before but I love the sound of it! What a great idea! I've never been great with writing down recipes, I usually just have a bookmark folder on my computer since I find most of them on blogs. But this one is super cute!
