I love a couple that isn't afraid to make their big day their own–and Molly and Moody did exactly that! The pair fell in love with The Foundry, not far from their home, and the wedding plans quickly fell into place; they chose a fall date to take advantage of rich reds, oranges and yellows, and planned a "floating dinner" to make sure that their wedding day was also a fabulous party.
Molly wore an elegant Dennis Basso for Kleinfeld gown, and warded off the chilly fall air with a fur shrug; silver Christian Louboutin pumps and a beaded J.Crew sash complimented her Amanda Judge hair clip and completed her subtly 1920s bridal style. Her fiery Poppies & Posies bouquet matched the orange orchid and fall foliage boutonniere Moody wore with a sharp Theory suit and one of the bride's late father's favorite Armani ties.
The groom, a professional stand-up comedian, had a fellow funny man officiate their ceremony. After exchanging the bride's grandmother and late father's rings, the new Mr and Mrs dug into the fall feast from Melissa Perrotti + Shaun Roberts of Great Performances, including kabocha squash roasted with maple syrup, root
vegetables, roasted cod, creamed spinach,
pork roast with cranberry relish, salt potatoes, wild mushrooms,
and seckle pears with cardamom. They served LittlePie Company confections instead of a traditional wedding cake, along with M&Ms, a sweet nod to their matching initials. After heartfelt and humorous toasts from the bride's bestie and her groom, the couple was serenaded by the bride's uncle and his dear friend. Then it was time for dancing–which the guests did until The Foundry closed its historic doors!
Many, many thanks to Charlotte Jenks Lewis for sharing this incredible autumn wedding with me–these beautiful images make me feel like I'm back home! Tell me, what's your favorite image or detail from Molly and Moddy's big day?
