Real Wedding: Mary and Riley

Sunday, January 9, 2011

I thought there could be no better way to ring in the new year than with an absolutely stunning wedding-this gem photographed by the Nichols certainly fit the bill! When Mary and Riley decided to tie the knot in the groom's hometown of Austin, TX, they knew they wanted to avoid a "traditional" celebration in favor of a French garden party. Soon after deciding on a theme, the bride stumbled onto Style Me Pretty, and the wedding came to life!

Mary said that all the traveling she did before the wedding gave her the perfect opportunity to find vintage handkerchiefs, postcards, teacups and even accessories-she spotted her 1950's veil in perfect condition in one of the antique stores she visited! The creative folks at Toronto's Kid Icarus screen printed invitations on the postcards and handkerchiefs, and Mary and Riley gave each guest a teacup and saucer as a momento of their gorgeous fête.

They were married at Chateau Bellevue, a historic building in downtown Austin in an outdoor ceremony and celebrated in their ballroom. The bride wore a "Grace" gown by Monique Lhuillier and a pair of Chanel shoes dotted with pearls. Amy Bodle at Merveille Events designed the lush, romantic floral arrangements and Hill Country Strings provided the elegant music. Krissy's Cakes baked the dessert buffet's impressive centerpiece, while macarons were made by Stardust Pastry. Bride and groom depended on planner Becky Brock of BZ Events to make their big day come to life, and husband and wife team the Nichols to capture each stunning moment.

What a perfectly beautiful wedding to celebrate the start of 2011!

  7. You arise beauteous in the horizon of the heavens
    Oh living Aten who creates life.
    When you shine forth in the Eastern horizon you fill every land with your beauty.
    You are so beautiful: you are great; gleaming and high over every land.
    Your rays embrace the lands and all you have created;
    You are Re and reach out to all your creations, and hold them for your beloved Son.
    You are afar, but your rays touch the earth;
    Men see you, but know not your ways.

    Thanks, sugar!
