Christmas is just over a week away, and John and I will be flying to Dallas in exactly seven days! I couldn't be more excited for the holidays, and this publicity photograph of Elizabeth Taylor has been a major source of inspiration as I wrap up the last presents and listen to a nearly-constant stream of carols. I love the classic colors and the slightly undone quality of the room, but it's Ms Taylor's perfect red lipstick that might just be most inspiring. You can be sure you'll see me wearing a vermilion lip when I'm giving out New Year's kisses!
How stylish and gorgeous she is!! Love red lips, night and day!!! A perfect way to give the very first of the New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove.

ReplyDeletei love her red lips as well but I cant seem to get my red lips to come out so perfect, you really need a steady hand
ReplyDeleteAmber Blue, the trick on lipstick is to use a liner. It is dry so if you make a mistake it is easy to correct. It is dry so it also stops the melt along the edges. Make a good outline first on where you want the lip line to be. Use your own lip shape but don't be afraid to "correct" or exaggerate a little for drama.
ReplyDeleteGood luck. A pencil, darker than the stick color.
ahhh Elizabeth Taylor in her prime. I love this photo!
ReplyDeleteHope your next seven days are productive so you can enjoy every minute in Dallas :) xoxo {av}
