A light, refreshing cocktail for the first weekend of June, this sparkling sage libation is a perfect vehicle for gin and practically made for sipping poolside or on the front porch.
Sage Gin Cooler
1 1/2 oz gin
1/2-1 oz syrup
2-3 sage leaves
In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, gently muddle 2 sage leaves with gin and syrup. Pour into a highball glass; top with club soda.
Notes: The first gin I'd pull off our shelves for this cocktail is St George's Botanivore, but because this simple recipe is really designed to highlight the flavor of your favorite gin, feel free to experiment with the spirit you like best. Not a fan of gin? This would make a great vodka-soda, too!
