Valentine

This weekend, I can't wait to curl up with my husband and a cocktail and celebrate Valentine's Day with a sumptuous home-cooked meal. I'm thinking that before dinner we'll serve this low-alcohol sipper–and as a bonus, it matches our holiday color scheme to a T!

Valentine

1 1/2 oz Cointreau
1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
3-4 raspberries
1 egg white
soda water

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and shake without ice for 10-15 seconds. Add ice and shake vigorously for an additional 10 seconds. Strain into a highball or large coupe glass filled with ice, and garnish with 3 skewered raspberries.

Notes: Cocktails that feature Cointreau as their base (or only!) spirit might seem a bit strange, but some of my favorite cocktails John's ever crafted are actually built just this way. A bit sweet, this cocktail would be heavenly as an aperitif or with your after-dinner chocolates.

Cheers, and happy Valentine's Day!

  4. I was hoping you could help me determine the maker of the orange shoes worn in the photos of Jackie & Nick's Wedding on July 10, 2013? I am getting married in June and those are the first shoes I have seen (out of so many hundreds) that I think would be perfect. Any help would be much appreciated.
