Theodora & Peter

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Peter and Theodora are city mice who craved a countryside setting for their big day. Charlottesville, where the groom's parents own a farm, was an idyllic locale, and King Family Vineyards, nestled in the foothils of the Blue Ridge Mountains, proved to be the perfect place for saying their I do's. Working with local planner Shindig Weddings And Events, the pair planned a celebration inspired by Charlottesville's rustic beauty and romance. Their blush, cream and gold palette was echoed in invitations by Bella Figura and romantic floral arrangements by Beehive Events.

Theodora wore a gently glimmering Vera Wang gown, diamond drop earrings and gold Jimmy Choo peep toes. A silk flower tucked into her sleek chignon and a simple lace-trimmed veil complimented her lush bouquet of dahlias, roses and jasmine from Beehive Events. Her maids wore blush dresses of tiered lace by Marina, and Peter and his groomsmen added a bit of color to their classic black suits with matching blush ties.

After a ceremony on the lawn, King Family's Crosé Rosé was served while guests played bocce, cornhole and croquet. Inside the Carriage House, crisp white linens, Chiavari chairs, blush and ivory floral arrangements and classic gold-rimmed china made an elegant impression. Despite the temptations served up by 20 South Catering and Cakes Unlimited, A-Town A-List managed to keep everyone dancing throughout the evening, and at the end of the night, fresh donuts and coffee from Carpe Donut made for a sweet farewell.

Of course, the couple had Jen Fariello to thank for the stunning photos that serve as a daily reminder of their beautiful celebration; I'm sure more than a few of these images have found their way into frames! Tell me, what's your favorite detail or photograph from this Southern fête?
