Honeymoon

When we flew into Boston and I caught my first sight of fall foliage, I was so thrilled I actually burst into tears! Nothing is quite like the feel of leaves crunching beneath your riding boots, but this cocktail gets pretty close.

Honeymoon

2 oz apple brandy
1/2 oz orange curaçao
1/2 oz Bénédictine
1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice; shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail or coupe glass.

Notes: The first time we made this cocktail, we found ourselves without any applejack, so we substituted American apple brandy for a little Calvados. While it was absolutely lovely, the crisper flavors of a Laird's or Clear Creek apple brandy is actually a bit better suited to this sipper. If you really want to up the fall quotient, add a drop or two of all spice dram–cheers!

P.S. You may have noticed a pretty massive change around here–I'd love to know what you think of the new look! Huge thanks to Ana Degenaar of Blog Milk for her beautiful work and patience with me throughout the process!
