I was a wreck on Friday morning waiting to hear from John about his jury; when he called to tell me he'd passed (with flying colors, of course) and would graduate with his Professional Studies Diploma, I practically leapt out of my seat! Indian Food Friday gave us the perfect opportunity for a celebration complete with Champagne and no less than three kinds of beers. We feasted on dosas and curries, and drank well into the night before heading across the street for gelato and espresso. I can't say just what made Friday night so wonderful, but I can tell you it was one for the record books.

John and I were up at a reasonable hour on Saturday and decided to cook up breakfast tacos, a particularly potent cure for too much fun the night before. After our morning meal, we jumped back into bed with a few episodes of Modern Family and our coffee for a lazy Saturday. John napped and nursed his hangover while I cleaned up my inbox and prepared my editorial calendar. I finally pulled on a worn pair of jeans and a sweater for a trip to our favorite market; we returned home with fresh bread, brown eggs and an armful of white peonies. I sipped an Americano while stirring a simple tomato sauce, and John and I enjoyed an early supper before cozying up with Primary Colors.

We started Sunday morning early, hanging out in bed with some fresh squeezed orange juice. We dressed up for brunch at Boxing Room, where the two of us and our Friday night dates ordered nearly everything on the menu. Over coffee we enjoyed hushpuppies, boudin balls and beignets before diving into oysters, shrimp & grits, eggs benedict, and pork confit hash. After battling the Bay to Breakers traffic, we curled up at home with some current projects. A little exercise was in order after such a delicious weekend, so while John ran errands, I sweated it out with Mary Helen Bowers. It was fairly late before either of us could even think about food, so we had a very light dinner of hummus, tzatziki, nuts and naan before heading to bed with The West Wing.

Tell me, how was your weekend? Did you tackle a new project, enjoy the spring weather or start planning a summer getaway? I want to hear all about it!
