Kristin & André

Louisiana-born Kristin and her French beau André fell in love in San Francisco, so it was only natural that they'd bring family and friends together in the City by the Bay. Their March wedding was inspired by the fresh green of early spring and chic black & white striped awnings of Paris, and coordinated by the talented team at Shannon Leahy Events. Black invitations with classic white calligraphy by Vera Wang for Crane & Co. set the tone for an elegant evening that started at St. John’s Presbyterian Church.

Kristin wore a structural Monique Lhuillier silk faille gown and bow-topped Nina New York peep toes; pearl statement earrings, a sleek chignon styled by Joseph Cozza Salon and a cathedral length veil finished the elegant look. Bridesmaids wore black & white striped dresses from Kate Spade paired with colorful pumps, and carried diminutive versions of the bride's white rose, ranunculus and pieris bouquet by Michael Daigian Design, while André and his groomsmen looked sharp in classic tuxedos.

After a traditional ceremony, guests joined the newlyweds at Presidio's Golden Gate Club for a reception that married the bride and groom's favorite things–cheese, fried green tomatoes and Champagne from Global Gourmet Catering. A classic three-tiered wedding cake and a spectacular croquembouche followed the French-meets-Southern supper, and David Martin's House Party had everyone on their feet and dancing.

I can only imagine how thrilled Kristin and André must have been when they saw how the talented Josh Gruetzmacher captured each gorgeous moment of their celebration; I was delighted that Josh was generous enough to share these images with me. Tell me, which detail or photograph do you adore?

  11. I fit a size 16-18, and the 3x is a bit loose at the waist, but not enough to take in, just enough to not pinch as sit down and to conceal my chubs.

  12. I love the dress! It is very true that it is huge at the bust, and that is saying something as I am a D cup. Though it will need alterations to adjust for my body dimensions
