Tristan & Meg

This classic couple meet riding the New York City Subway, and it didn't take long for their metropolitan romance to get serious. Tristan and Meg always agreed that they'd tie the knot in the Big Apple, and quickly fell in love with the elegant Twenty Four Fifth, formerly the Fifth Avenue Hotel. The 1920's era venue, complete with antiqued mirrors and a sunken dance floor, was perfect for the classic big city celebration Tristan and Meg had in mind.

Meg wore a structured Angel Sanchez gown with a romantic drop waist; gold Valentino peep toes, a pearl necklace and a ruffled bolero from BHLDN completed her modern-meets-classic bridal look. Black tie groomsmen complimented the bridesmaids' black Melissa Sweet for Priscilla of Boston gowns and the understated white tulip bouquets crafted by Glenn Wolski of Urban Design Studio.

After a traditional Catholic ceremony at Greenwich Village's Church of St. Joseph, guests strolled two blocks to Twenty Four Fifth for dinner and dancing. Day-of coordinator Oh So Fabulous! brought Meg's elegant celebration to life, but they were both surprised by the groom's sweet serenade of his new Mrs after dinner! The evening ended with NYC hot dogs and a copy of that day's New York Times–a fitting tribute to these two city dwellers–as the bride changed into a Sue Wong sheath to bid her guests goodnight. And the talented Tara Leigh of Tara Leigh Photography was on hand to capture every classic, joyful moment of the newlywed's city celebration!

A big thank you to Tara Leigh Photography for sharing your wonderful images with me–I just can't resist a classic! Tell me, what's your favorite detail from this Greenwich Village fête?
