Summer calls for tequila and gin, but fall is the perfect time to pull out your bottles of bourbon and rye. I love this classic cocktail with an ever-so-slightly over-ripened slice of peach, and of course, the company of my handsome sweetheart!
Monte Carlo
2 oz rye whiskey
.5 oz Benedictine
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
.5 oz Benedictine
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Combine rye, Benedictine and bitters in a mixing glass, stir with ice and strain into a chilled coupe.
Notes: Benedictine is quite sweet, so it pairs beautifully with the spicy notes of rye–Rittenhouse, Mitcher's, Bulleit and High West are all favorites at our house. Happy weekend, and cheers!
