Cap Haitian Cocktail

John and I have been particularly enamored with rum lately–perhaps it's the impending holiday season, but we've been absorbed in the history and production of rums, and occasionally we'll even open up a bottle or two! This cocktail is a rummy remake of the Mississippi Mule, and absolutely perfect for fall.

Cap Haitian Cocktail

2 oz white rum
3/4 oz Crème de Cassis
3/4 oz freshly squeezed lime juice

Combine rum, crème de cassis and lime in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass filled with crushed ice.

Notes: I adore crème de cassis, which I find irresistible when mixed with bubbles, white wine, good tequila, and rum! High quality crème de cassis can be a bit expensive, but it'll last forever in your refrigerator and can't be beat when you're looking for something to sweeten up your evening–cheers!
