Venetian Greyhound

Friday, September 13, 2013

Every once in a while, you find a blogger who likes what you like. She eats at your favorite restaurants, she's lusting over the same J.Crew boots, or in this case, she adores your favorite drinks and agrees that a proper Champagne Cocktail requires nothing more than a bitters-soaked sugar cube and good bubbly. So when Lindsay of Fleur de Sel posted this mash up of a Greyhound and a Campari and soda, I knew the Venetian Greyhound was about to be one of my new favorite drinks!

Venetian Greyhound

2 oz citrus vodka
3 oz freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
1 oz Campari
soda

Combine vodka, grapefruit juice and Campari in a shaker with ice; shake for no more than 5 seconds. Strain into an ice-filled rocks or Collins glass, top with soda.

Notes: Lindsay shared a great recipe for grapefruit-infused vodka, but if you have neither the time nor the inclination, there are plenty of grapefruit and citrus vodkas available. Cheers!

  6. Is it bad that it is only 6 o'clock in the morning and I am drooling over this drink?!

  7. I love the drinks with grapefruit in them. Makes me feel like I'm, at least, being a little healthy while I downing my alcohol!
