Victoria and Robert

City and country–sometimes weddings bring together the best of both worlds. Like this beautiful backyard wedding on a citrus, avocado and vegetable farm that the groom's family farmed since the late 1800s, where Robert's parents were married and where future generations will surely tie the knot.

Invitations by Camilla Gurun brought together the wedding's red, orange and blush color palette (her work is stunning) and Robin Sonner worked with the soon-to-be-weds to plan a celebration that married their city life and their shared ranching history. Just before the ceremony, Robert surprised Victoria with a chocolate cake he'd baked, displayed on a stand from their registry; they exchanged their vows in an outdoor ceremony, and when he promised to love and support her, he also vowed to make her a cake every year on their anniversary. Presided over by a friend of the family and California judge who was introduced to her husband by Robert's father, their wedding was strengthen by the many other unions that joined them together.

Victoria wore a structural Romona Keveza gown and a custom veil by Mercedes Trump of Beautiful,  paired with a pearl drop earrings, gold bangles and a pendant necklace. She carried a cascading bouquet of roses, dahlias and hypericum berries that matched the bridesmaids coral dresses and posies of hypericum and garden roses by Susan Evans, while Robert looked handsome in a charcoal suit and a blush colored tie.

The newlyweds joined their guests in the backyard, which was transformed with farm tables, café chairs and structural flower arrangements into a gorgeous reception space. The rustic feast was catered by Command Performance Catering and after dinner and a slice of homemade chocolate cake, the couple danced the night away under the stars.

Many, many thanks to Rebecca Fishman of Birds of a Feather for sharing her beautiful work with me–that last frame truly took my breath away. Tell me, do you have a favorite image or detail from this stunning celebration?
