This is a big week, full of gorgeous navy details and one super personal post come Thursday–but for now, let's have a little weekend wrap up, shall we?

Last week was one of those you just can't win, and come Friday afternoon, I was ready to throw up my hands in defeat! I headed home and pulled the covers up over my head–which is where John found me shortly after. A few sweet words and the promise of Indian food with our dear friends had me feeling like myself, and we headed out with a tote bag full of bubbles to toast the end of the week! After shutting down the restaurant, we all grabbed a nightcap at a local microbrewery before tumbling home to bed.

John went out for a run Saturday morning and let me sleep in while he dropped off the laundry, bought avocados and fresh bread for breakfast and cooked up a feast of poached eggs on avocado toast, roasted potatoes and a big green salad! After breakfast, we curled up and enjoyed each other's company–something I don't think either of us had gotten enough of during the week. My little brother eventually straggled home in the early afternoon to regale us with the tale of his evening (which included falling asleep in a bush, then being awoken by the sprinkler system) and take a nice long nap. John and I were possessed by an urgent desire to scrub, and cleaned house from top to bottom while Charlie dozed. Once every mirror sparkled and every surface shined, we had worked up quite an appetite, so we headed to Andronico's for provisions. We cooked up this outrageously delicious pizza, paired with petite arugula salads topped with Pecorino Romano, and rented This is 40, which had us both giggling. After the movie was finished, we put on our coats for an evening stroll through Golden Gate Park. We walked around North Lake and on our way home, I insisted we spend just a few minutes on the swings. With the stars twinkling above and John whopping as he climbed ever higher, it was the perfect end to a restorative day.

We were up early on Sunday, and while Charlie took off to explore Bay to Breakers, John and I were all too happy to stay far away from the drunken revelers. We made a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, Monterey Jack cheese, guacamole and salsa on tortillas, then pulled out our computers and got to work! We took an afternoon walk once the neighborhood cleared out, then John ran some errands while I practiced yoga. He and Charlie made a trip to Andronico's while I cleaned up and we had a gorgeous summer spread for supper–French potato salad, cold roasted chicken and blanched and lightly roasted carrots and asparagus, along with a glass of Sauternes for dessert.

Tell me, what were you up to this weekend? Eating delicious meals, reading a good book or taking part in another spring activity?
