Kokomo

Friday, March 8, 2013

It's just not a vacation without a frosty tropical drink–or at least you can't convince me otherwise!

Kokomo

1 1/2 oz tequila
3/4 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
3/4 oz syrup
1/2 oz orange curacao
1/4 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
1/4 cup fresh or frozen pineapple

Combine all ingredients in a blender with 1 cup of ice; blend until smooth. Pour contents into a chilled glass and garnish with pineapple, strawberries or other fruit.

Notes: John and I pulled out our heavy-duty Waring blender to whip up this cocktail creation, but if your blender doesn't perform well in icy conditions, you can always shake up your ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker, then pour it into a glass filled with crushed ice. Neighborly bonus–it'll make a lot less noise! Cheers!
