Cranberry Margarita

Friday, January 11, 2013

For most of us, winter doesn't exactly suggest tequilas and margaritas–unless it's this wintery sipper!

Cranberry Margarita

2 oz cranberry juice
1/2-1 oz agave nectar, to taste
1 1/2 oz fresh or frozen cranberries
1 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
1 1/2 oz tequila
1 oz orange liquor
1/2 cup coarsely crushed ice

In a blender, combine all but a few cranberries, cranberry and lime juices, tequila, orange liquor, syrup and ice; blend until smooth and slushy. Garnish with a skewer of cranberries, sugared or plain.

Notes: While whatever tequila you have on hand will be perfect for this cocktail, there's no need to use your best añejo or Cointreau–it is a blender drink, after all! Adjust the agave nectar to the sweetness of the cranberry juice you're using and your personal preferences–cheers!
