Concord Crush

Friday, November 9, 2012

I always think of grapes in the fall; maybe that's because they look so spectacular spilling out of a cornucopia next to flint corn, or just because I adore a big glass of red wine with my turkey. Whatever the reason, I thought this Gramercy Tavern cocktail would be a hit this holiday season!

Concord Crush

2 oz vodka
1 1/4 oz concord grape purée
3/4 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
1/4 oz simple syrup
whole concord grapes, for garnish

Combine vodka, grape purée, lime juice and simple syrup in a shaker with ice; shake for 10-15 seconds, then into a rock or old-fashioned glass and top with a grape.

Notes: To make the grape purée, place 1 lb de-stemmed grapes in a blender with a scant teaspoon of lime juice. Purée, then strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove seeds. Cheers!
