There's something about family tradition that just can't be beat, and walking down the same aisle your mother did some thirty years earlier is just the loveliest tribute I can imagine.
After William proposed to Mary, there was no quite about where these two would tie the knot; the bride's grandmother's Victorian home in Summerville, South Carolina was the site of her mother and aunts' weddings over the years, and she'd always dreamed of marrying there herself. Once the location was settled, it was clear the celebration would exude classic Southern elegance, brought to life by Luke Wilson Special Events and announced in traditional calligraphy invitations by Studio R Design.
The bride wore a lace Romona Keveza gown from Maddison Row paired with a simple pair of Nina shoes, her mother's four strand pearl bracelet with vintage diamond clasp and her aunt's French lace veil. Bridesmaids wore pleated taupe gowns by Watters & Watters, and the groom and his groomsmen were dressed in traditional white tie, including tuxedo jackets with tails. Mary carried a lush ivory and blush bouquet by Sara York Grimshaw Designs down the aisle, which matched the romantic arrangements, accented by cream colored linens and mercury glass of every kind. Under a shower of rose petals, the couple departed for the honeymoon, and I'm sure that when they returned, they were absolutely delighted by the images captured by Heather Forsythe Photography–they're simply stunning!
Tell me, what's your favorite detail of this classic Southern celebration?
The flowers- So lovely, so appropriate - a dream.
ReplyDeleteAnd, probably, the cake topper.
Everything else was JUST Perfect! I enjoy tradition because you just follow through a well proved recipe and tells how comfortable you are and with what you come from.
:sigh: Lovely Wedding and Handsome Couple. Doesn't get much better than that, really.

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous bride! And that dress, oh my, it is stunning! I usually don't prefer grooms in tuxedos with tails but for some reason, the groom (and his groomsmen) look so dashing in this style!
