Happy Monday, darlings–I hope you all had spectacular weekends full of your favorite things–and I feel incredibly lucky to say that I certainly did!

I was up late Thursday night and at the office early on Friday morning, so by the time 5 o'clock rolled around, I was ready for a cocktail and a long evening of nothing at all. I grabbed a Hotel Nacional cocktail at Zero Zero and headed home just as the bar started to fill up–I was so exhausted that after finishing State of Wonder, I fell sound asleep without eating supper!

John was also sleep-deprived, so we slept in Saturday (it was great being the first person up for a change!) and found ourselves dressed long after breakfast had stopped being served. We trekked into upper Fillmore for banh mi and a beer at Bun Mee, and found that we couldn't resist the sweet potato fries with red curry aioli, or a stroll around the gorgeous neighborhood on one spectacularly beautiful afternoon. Then we topped our indulgent lunch with an afternoon curled up under the covers watching I.Q. and The Reader, eventually even dragging our mattress into the living room! We did escape total laziness for an evening of Indian food, perfect for the deliciously foggy evening.

After Saturday's indulgence, we were up early on Sunday and determined to make the day count. We ran errands all over the city, checking each and every item off our to-do list, and then met up with my cousin Maria and her dear friends for a late lunch at Outerlands. Once home, I set on my computer and John on his guitar to make sure we were ready for what Monday had in store. After some yoga and a light supper, we felt ready to tackle the week!

Tell me, what were you up to this weekend? Indulgent afternoons, or productive mornings–or best of all, both?

  6. We had both! The rain kept us in for everything except a late lunch Saturday and grocery shopping Sunday =) And I swear, I'm moving to San Francisco if I could have weekends that sound like this!!

  7. If I had my way, my weekends would be purely and only indulgent! But yes, like you, I always find myself doing a bit of both. Otherwise, nothing would get done!

  8. Mmmm, fog. I am all about chilly fall right now and a little rumble of fog with my morning coffee sounds just about right.

  14. This picture is so pretty! What a gorgeous setting. Your weekend sounds wonderful and oh so Lena :) I enjoyed lunch with an old friend on Saturday, and then showed her around some of my favorite spots in Austin. It rained all day on Sunday (such a treat in Texas!), so I had a lazy day inside doing homework and catching up on blogs!
