Katie and Patrick

A lakeside wedding with plenty of Lilly Pulitzer seems like the perfect way to wrap up this summer, don't you agree? And when the bride is the sort of girl who buys her gown sight unseen, well then you know you're in for a treat!

Katie was wearing a Lilly Pulitzer scarf when Patrick proposed, and the pattern popped up all over their lakeside celebration, from the groomsmen's bowties to the bride's get-away dress. After choosing the bride's childhood home on Lake Martin in Eclectic, AL for the reception, the pair decided to marry in the Children's Harbor Chapel nearby.

Katie wore an Amsale gown she spotted in a magazine just days after getting engaged. Even her mother didn't know Katie bought the dress without ever having seen it, much less tried it on, but when the gown arrived, it didn't need a single alternation! She paired the ruffled confection with Kate Spade shoes, a simple diamond drop pendant and fresh green and white bouquet from Stems Floral. Her bridesmaids wore aqua Lilly Pulitzer dresses, of course, and the groom and his best pals paired natural suits with bright Lilly bowties.

Following the traditional ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests headed to the bride's father's home for a sweet, homespun reception planned by Katie and her mom. Jeffery Long of Stems Floral created simple white centerpieces to suit the relaxed celebration, and Pepper Tree Steaks N’ Wines made certain that no guest went underfed. A three-tiered confection from Peggy McKinney Cakes was at the center of a sweet dessert display full of chocolates, Krispy Kreme donuts and jelly beans, and Blue Denim kept guests dancing until it was time for the bride and groom to depart amid a shower of rose petals!

A huge thank you to kindred spirit Kelly of Spindle Photography for letting me feature your fabulous photos–and a very happy belated birthday!
