A four day Cinco de Mayo wedding celebration on Isla Mujeres–what a heavenly way to tie the knot! When I saw Phil Chester's beautiful, vibrant photos, I could smell the salt of the ocean and recreate each view we'd just spent the week gazing at.

And those luchador masks? One of my favorite moments of the week was watching a family walk by us on the hottest afternoon of our trip, their youngest daughter trailing behind them wearing a Blue Demon mask and cape.

Tell me, would you ever plan a destination wedding? What would your dream locale be?

  7. LOVE, LOVE, THIS WEDDING! I have a special place in my heart for destination weddings. David and I had a four day wedding weekend four years ago in Puerto Rico. It was a blast! Our friends still talk about it to this day. It was laid back and so chill. Our wedding guests looked like reps from the United Nations. They came from everywhere just to celebrate our wedding day. One flew overseas just for a few hours and left. We are thinking of having a vow renewal next year and everyone wants to know where it will be...this time I think Paris is calling since we got engaged there. Wanna come :-) ?

  12. The best part of this is how much FUN it seemed to be! I've been to too many weddings where it was all about the structure and schedule and "being perfect", but this just looked like a whole lotta love and pure fun being had! It is, after all, the best party of your life!

  23. These pictures are so beautiful. It looks like such a good time. I had a semi-destination wedding, and it was fun, but a bit stressful trying to pan everything.
