Gemma and Scott

Violet and blush are a positively lovely pairing, but when that palette is inspired by the names of the newlyweds' grandmothers, well then you know you're in for a wedding that's as heartfelt as it is beautiful!

This English beauty moved to New York for her handsome Australian sweetheart, so it was natural that they'd want to share their adopted hometown with their family and friends, who came to celebrate from around the world. At the forefront of the couple's mind was a wedding that was intimate and warm, with plenty of Big Apple flair, and they worked with New York-based Brilliant Event Planning to pull off just that. From the hand-drawn invitations from Paperfinger to the Lady Liberty save-the-dates, the bride and groom made sure each detail resonated with their guests.

Gemma wore a spectacular, structural gown from Elie by Elie Saab for Pronovias, paired with glimmering Jimmy Choos, Tous earrings and a Provonias veil and bejeweled clip. Bridesmaids looked lovely in lilac Amsale gowns from The Wedding Library, and Scott and his groomsmen were dapper in traditional tuxedos, from Paul Stuart and Men's Warehouse, respectively. Although they wore matching purple Paul Smith socks, the groom's patent Ferragamo lace ups and black vest set him apart from the pack. The bride carried a demure white bouquet, and her maids held posies in violet and blush that echoed the exquisite arrangements by Designs by Ahn, and honored grandmothers Dulcie Violet and Joscelyn Rose.

After primping at the Gramercy Park Hotel, where Jeff Chastain Parlor and Nam Vo were on hand to beautify the bride and her girlfriends, the soon-to-be weds met for Manhattan portraits. Their traditional ceremony at the Calvary-St. George's was followed by dinner and dancing back at the Gramercy Park Hotel, but not before the newlyweds enjoyed some time alone in a classic 50's taxi, supplied by Peter Yannello of Film Cars. The New York-theme found its way to table names and the pair's favors, chocolates in Vosges' signature purple boxes, to even the music DJ Scott Melker played! And at the end of the evening, the couple knew they could relieve the joyful day in Maggie Harkov's gorgeous photos, which captured the celebration magnificently!
