Vancouver Cocktail

Friday, June 22, 2012

Not to be outdone by yesterday's chocolate dream, this cocktail is a mellow, sophisticated sipper–and I bet it'd be delicious with a slice of cake!

Vancouver Cocktail

1 1/2 oz gin
1 1/2 oz sweet vermouth
1/4 oz benedictine
2 dashes Peychaud's bitters

Combine ingredients in an ice-filled mixing glass or tin and stir until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon or orange peel.

Notes: Despite our love for Plymouth, we recently opened up a bottle of Martin Miller's Westbourne gin and have been very much enjoying the results. John always stirs his cocktails until they give up a strong aroma–it's a good sign they're ready to drink!
