Isn't that the most gorgeous, dewy photo? Consider that my new ideal lipstick look!

John got a job last week bartending at Zero Zero, which means I've suddenly found my evenings to myself! On Friday night, I headed home eagerly anticipating turning those avocados and a bowl full of limes into a cocktail and some guacamole! I snacked and lounged, enjoying the peace and quiet–I'm an introvert at heart, and love nothing more than to curl up with a good book or a favorite movie. John came home and I nearly lept into his arms, and after falling asleep mid-Frasier, we turned in for the night.

I slept in so late on Saturday that I'm actually embarrassed to tell you the time, but John had already run two rounds of errands! I found him in the kitchen wearing his favorite rubber gloves, and jumped in to help–after scrubbing the sink, I settled in with the newest issue of Mag Rouge and the last week's worth of Style Me Pretty features. Eventually we decided to start on a very late breakfast, and made a feast of poached eggs, roasted potatoes, chicken apple sausage and wheat toast. We curled into bed with our coffee and tea for some snuggling and Frasier–which John took pretty seriously, because I found him fast asleep on my lap! I got a bit more work done while he dozed, and when he groggily sat up, I practically shouted, "Time for Indian!" We headed to the restaurant where we snagged the very last table, and had an absolute feast! After stuffing ourselves nearly to the brim, we grabbed gelato (mint chocolate chip for me, salted caramel and coconut for John) and took a stroll through the park as the sun set.

John was up early on Sunday morning for a brunch shift, and I headed to the airport to pick up one of my best Baltimore buds, Dave and his darling girlfriend Amber. After empanadas and Gibraltars at Hollow, we beelined to Ocean Beach for a little facetime with the Pacific and sunbathing in the Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden. After one of John's chocolate stouts, we picked him up and headed to our favorite little Thai place for a perfect meal in sight of the ocean. We headed home for cocktails–an Agricole rhum punch, a 1794, a Gin Fizz and a Hemingway Daiquiri–which were, without question, the perfect way to end a wonderful day in San Francisco, and kick off what promises to be an unbeatable week.

What were you up to this weekend? Decadent ice cream cones, fun in the sun, or best of all–both?

  1. You guys always remind me that there are still good things out there to experience. I'm also happy with a book and a drink or two on Friday. I worked the entire weekend and had fever but I'm looking forward to a camping trip this weekend so it is not entirely bad :) Happy week, friend!

  14. I laughed out loud at your excitement for Indian food this weekend! I'm curious--do you have any favorite dishes? I usually get too nervous to venture outside of my usual butter chicken and naan, but you're the expert!

  16. Sounds like one yummy weekend! I am so jealous -- I am dying for Indian food. I brunched with my beau on Saturday, and Lynnie and I celebrate her upcoming nuptials with her girlfriends at her bachelorette party on Saturday. (Followed by a carb filled breakfast on Sunday morning.) xo style, she wrote

  17. What a lovely weekend! I am intrigued by the amount of different cocktails consumed. So sophisticated - we never get creative, but I should change that. Our weekend was delightful in very good ways and I'm glad yours was too!
