Elena and Kris

As a girl who has pretty strong opinions on what I do and don't want on my big day, I love a bride who has a clear vision in mind–and I bet her vendors do, too! Elena and Kris worked with designer and florist Steven Moore Designs and photographer Michele M. Waite to create a day full of elegance, and just a touch of unexpected opulence–and boy did they hit this one of out the park.

Their late August wedding was held on the grounds of the Juntunen Gardens, a gorgeous Washington state farm and nursery. Elena wore a Vera Wang gown (the "Diana") cinched at the waist with a simple chocolate sash, diamond drop earrings and a full ballet-length veil, and changed into a beaded sash for the reception. Her bridesmaids were dressed in custom made ivory dresses by Jennifer Ryan, an interior designer, while the grooms and his closest friends wore classic black suits with chocolate and white ties. The newlyweds wanted their wedding to be welcoming to children, so some of the girls closest to the bride also joined the wedding party, dressed in diminutive versions of the maid of honor's tulle confection.

The bride was partial to peonies, ranunculus and gardenias, but the season made sourcing them problematic–luckily, Steven found one small nursery in Europe that had a small crop, and said, "I'll buy the farm!" In addition to bouquets, he was able to make a few stunning centerpieces that practically floated atop one of this wedding's most memorable features–the tulle covered tabletops. Thousands of yards were layered over gold lamour linens from BBJ Linen to create an absolutely heavenly effect. Gold painted branches carefully covered in crystals, and the occasional pop of zebra print made the reception tent and lounge unforgettable. After an exquisite New American meal from Canlis Restaurant and cake from Market Street Catering, guests danced the night away to The Dusty 45's.

Tell me, what's your favorite detail of this celebration? I'm absolutely head over heels for those tulle tables!

An enormous thank you to Michele for sharing your spectacular photos–if you'd like to see more, check out the Style Me Pretty gallery!

  3. The picture of the ring being handed to the groom - men can have just as intimate, touching moments as brides and their bridesmaids do, but those don't get photographed as often! Such a sweet photo.
