Rustic Margarita

Friday, May 4, 2012

In honor of tomorrow's Cinco de Mayo celebrations and John's birthday, I thought I'd share an oldie but oh such a goodie–his best margarita recipe. No orange liqueur, no sweet and sour mix–just three ingredients, and a bit of salt, if you're into that sort of the thing.

Margarita

2 oz tequila
1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 oz dark agave nectar

Combine tequila, lime and agave in a shaker with ice; shake for 10 seconds and pour into a glass, rimmed with coarse salt if desired.

Salud, and a very happy early birthday to the man I love!

  2. I was reading the other day about how this is the best way to make a margarita. I'm not going to lie, I always buy the mixer from the grocery store. I'm going to give this a try.
