In Bloom

Thursday, May 31, 2012

Lately I've been thinking about the peonies blooming in my mother's beautiful garden, and I just couldn't resist this gorgeously full bouquet. This is my favorite kind of posy–tight, round and mostly uniform in color, but I'm dying to hear–what kind of bouquet do you fall for? Cascades of roses and lilies, pomanders of carnations or a singular composite bouquet?

  1. I am definitely drawn to mixed bouquets more, but there is something so elegant about a bouquet like this one! I'm going to go ahead and predict peonies at your wedding ;) xoxo

  2. I love peonies so so much, but they weren't ready for my March wedding. =( I certainly do admire how much volume the blooms give without a bulky mass of stems.

  3. Peonies are my favorite all-time flower. My mother grows them in her garden. I have fond memories as a child with all those lovelies.

  5. A garden of peonies? What a dream come true! I carried long, graceful stems of calla lilies & I love (yes, present tense, I still adore it!) my bouquet SO much :-)

  6. Gorgeous bouquet! I love Peonies! Had them as bouquets and floral decor in my BFF's wedding and the flowers lasted SOOO long! Decided to try and plant them in my yard in a mixture of bulbs, but they've yet to show up. Personally I love a singular composite bouquet, very full!

  9. I love this bouquet. So simple and elegant.

Style doesn't matter as much to me as the colors. I am a sucker for a beautiful color palette.

  10. I think it is time to bring some of these inside. We used to have them in my mom's garden, too. Feeling super homesick these days. I'm five.
