I'm a sucker for wedding cake; it's the third thing on my list of wedding to-dos, right after the venue and catering (and about 8 spots above "little white dress")! When I spotted this photo of these sweet slices tinged in pink, I simply couldn't resist!
Tell me, what flavor do you think it is? My guess is vanilla and strawberry cake with buttercream frosting!

we're going to do a multi-tier cake with different flavors... my pick was carrot cake! with lots of raisins, nuts and sweet cream cheese icing :) xoxo jillian:: cornflake dreams
ReplyDeletedelicious!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, a wedding cake is also at the top of my to-do lists whenever thinking about or planning on a wedding. :D And those slices, I think, are yes strawberry! :) Love it!
ReplyDeleteThe frosting is definitely buttercream...looks thick. I think you're right but it could be raspberry, too.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to know someone else who enjoys wedding cake as much as I do. Everyone always leaves theirs to dance...not this girl!
Ok, I feel pretty silly! I kept looking for your blog under the old name...lol. This cake looks delicious.

PS, thank you for your sweet comment about the promise ring :)
That cake is too cute. Our wedding cake tasting was one of our favorite parts of wedding planning :-)
ReplyDeletedecadent!!! YUM!!!
ReplyDeleteWe really do need more food coloring in the wedding industry.
ReplyDeleteOh yum! I love strawberries but I HOPE it's raspberries. Raspberries seem a bit more elegant than strawberries. I don't know why.
ReplyDeleteI bet it's strawberry, which makes me sad because I can't stand strawberry flavored things, and these slices are just too pretty! My cousin got married last year and her cake from the Cake Boss on TLC...it was incredible, and definitely lived up to the hype :)
ReplyDeleteYUM, pass me some please! Although I go with Dancing Branflake, I kind of want it to be raspberry.
ReplyDeleteGuh, I can't wait to see what you choose if this is what appeals to you. Freeze a piece and mail it to me? lol
ReplyDeleteLove how delicate they look...and yes definitely strawberry! :)
ReplyDeleteThis cake looks so divine! I haven't been to your blog in awhile, and I'm so sorry about that. I love your blog - and I see so much has changed! It looks fantastic, Lena!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely some strawberry in there - not the usual for wedding cake!
ReplyDeleteI think your guess is right on the money!
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering right now -- you're killing me, Lena ;D
ReplyDeleteYum!!

ReplyDeletemaybe raspberry + buttercream!
I always bypass every desert & go straight for chocolate, but this post has me determined to get a strawberry or lemon cake sometime soon! Mmm.
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing but I am sort of hoping it is raspberry. I love the bit of tang those bring.
ReplyDeletei just thought of a new purpose for this blog: you NEED to keep us (ahem me) up to date on YOUR wedding plans!
ReplyDeleteI am ridiculously excited about your wedding plans. And yeah, strawberry. Oh my gosh, cake tasting was THE BEST! xo
ReplyDeleteThose look TOO delicious!
ReplyDeleteRaspberry with a light cream cheese butttercreme frosting or a pomegranate and strawberry to give it a little zing!
ReplyDeleteokay now just w.t.f. is this? (meant with love)
