Monogrammed

Monday, November 7, 2011

It's no secret that I'm a sucker for a good monogram, but this pretty pink hankie trimmed with daisies and peonies has absolutely bewitched me-any ideas where I could get one just like it?

This weekend was a bit less bustling than usual, and I was so relieved! On Friday night, John and I had our dear friend Adrian, visiting from Manila, over for something other than the Manila Beer he's been drinking for years (really, just one brewery!), but I spent most of Saturday curled up with a terrible headache. Indian food that evening seemed to cure it, though, and we were up bright and early on Sunday morning.

John spent the early part of the day running errands and catching up with an old friend, so I organized each inch of our little home, then got down to the business of enjoying Southern Weddings V4 with a cup of Constant Comments tea (I think that might be where the blame lies for this hanky obsession). Then it was time for a little afternoon yoga, perusing the aisles of my favorite grocery store, Andronico's (tell me someone else loves the grocery store like I do!), reading in the sun while the temperatures are still warm and cooking up pork chops with roasted apples and a touch of brandy.

Tell me, what were you up to this weekend?

  3. Taking advante of last Summer in Autumn - enjoying the garden, puttering around the house, some visits to fairs...

It works with me - spicy foods always make me recover faster of an headache.

I love the monogrammed hankie. I remember when I was 8 and receiving a box set of three and feel like an Austen character.

Since then I'm hopeless with monograms - that you bring up often to my delight - and I really miss having REAL hankie in my purse.

    Wishing you a great week.

  21. Oh, my grandmother tried to teach me to embroider but I was too impatient & kept pricking my fingers! Now I'd give anything to be able to.

I had planned to clean my house from top to bottom, but instead I made tacos. Yep. Weekend win!

  23. I'm a total sucker for monograms as well! This pink hankie is gorgeous! My grandmother has the same initials as me and just gave me her beautiful vintage monogrammed pillow cases in linen that I'm so smitten with at the moment.

  28. You make even a hangover sound glamourous!! HOW do you do it?!? As for the hankie... check out Linen Whites on Etsy- they have a lot of designs and thread colors to choose from... but there's nothing like an actual vintage one!
