Davina + Daniel

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

A slim black sheath, a birdcage veil, plenty of pearls and saying "I do" with your sweetheart in the (other) City of Lights? Talk about style; Davina + Daniel have it in spades!

Really, I can't imagine why more couples don't elope, then throw a gorgeous fête, too! It's the best of both worlds, don't you think? Tell me, would you ever go for double, or do you think a wedding is one-time only?

Photos by Ben Chrisman–thank you for sharing them, Davina and Daniel!

  4. This just reminds me that a large, extravagant wedding isn't the only romantic way to get hitched. When I think about my future wedding, sometimes I picture just eloping and having a small garden reception for friends and family back home. But then again, that's just one idea! I have way too many floating around in my head.

  9. I love these!! We thought about eloping and then throwing a big party at home... but in the end I really wanted my family (especially my mom -- we're close) there for the ceremony.

  12. These pictures are fantastic! They capture Vegas and the couple so perfectly. Hubby wanted a Vegas wedding initially but I wanted my childhood church so we compromised and did a 5 year vowel renewal in Vegas with Elvis - it was hysterical! Love the idea of a double, the actual wedding would be so romantic with just the 2 of you then party it everyone up later!

  17. Ahh, I love Davina & Daniel! Davina kept a wedding blog for a bit while planning their Mexico wedding earlier this year (with totally insane photos, as I'm sure you've seen) and it was one of my favorites. They are so ridiculously talented, not to mention photogenic and stylish!

  21. Love it. And I kinda wish we had eloped and then just thrown a backyard party for our family & friends. Although, I'm not sure people would have traveled all the way from CA to Chicago for a "party." A wedding is much more motivating. :)

  22. I love this! My husband and I eloped in Jerusalem. We just googled English-speaking churches, Skyped with the minister of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, hopped on a plane and went! I wrote our vows on the plane, and we were married in one of the most amazing cities with only the minister, his assistant, and a friend taking photos. For our honeymoon we took a bus to the south of Israel to Eliat and dipped our feet in the Red Sea and drank tea...I recommend eloping to everyone!

  24. I would go for a double! Especially since we married before our actual wedding. I wish I would've done it up though and hired a photog!

Are you doing both? What's the plan??

  26. Obviously, I'm a fan. Something about a quintessential Vegas elopement is SO romantic, though I must say, I'm loyal to NYC's municipal building ;)
