This weekend was the perfect antidote to the 5 shifts John worked at the bar and the particularly wild work week I had. John got home earlier than expected on Friday so we had late night picnic; he popped a couple of Benadryl afterwards and we both slept in like we were college kids. We spent Saturday watching movies and enjoying the downright chilly temperatures in SF, then celebrated my new assistant (horray!) with fish tacos and Negro Modelos at Underdogs. I whipped up a batch of bourbon-walnut brownies that were perfect with a cup of tea for breakfast on Sunday, and John and I both knocked out some big projects that the week had simply left no time for; here's hoping this upcoming week is a touch less hectic!
Tell me, darlings-how did you spend your weekend?

Your weekend sounds just perfect!! Mine was less perfect, but that just seems to be the case lately. Hope your week slows down a little!
ReplyDeleteThe corn in the back is 10' tall dark as night in there, looks like a horror film about the Genetically modified corn... and the grass in the garden was over my head - really. So it was big clippers, the first time I ever gardened in the buff which made for the perfect balance of little swim big whack at grass...Then in full keeping with the theme we went to the county fair and ate Jersey Hot Dogs with peppers onions and potatoes.
ReplyDeleteI did the same exact thing on Saturday and quite frankly it was refreshing. I felt guilty only for a second!
ReplyDeleteHer bouquet is SO pretty! Bourbon walnut brownies sound pretty perfect - as does your weekend! hooray for assistants!
