I grew up in a family of car enthusiasts; every household had a subscription to
Autoweek, and family vacations were often planned around the Formula 1 race taking place during a given week of the summer. Despite my relative disinterest, I still notice when Porsche releases a new model and can't help but watch a beautifully preserved classic car as it drives by. My particular favorites are Fords and Chevrolets from the late 1950s and early 60s; something about their Space Age shapes calls out to the girdled housewife in me!
When I dream about my wedding day, I often picture being carried off to the airport in a vintage auto-preferably something cherry red. Tell me, do you get weak in the knees at the thought of a 1940s Rolls Royce, a pickup truck, or maybe a tandem bike for your exit? What's the best mode of transportation to say your goodbye's from?

We got off half way down the road and got in the cab :) Not as glamorous as this, but still super fun and made for cute pictures!

ReplyDeleteHaha I know absolutely nothing about cars, but I certainly love the one in this photo!
ReplyDeleteI havent thought of this before... how odd considering I have SEVERAL different plans, colors ideas flowers dresses places.... for my wedding lol I left this out.. now I have much to ponder lol
ReplyDeletetruth be told, transportation was at the bottom of my list only because it was quite pricey, but if money were no object I would have loved to have been picked up vintage Aston Martin...very bond, james bond
ReplyDeleteI love classic cars! I would love to be driving around in an old jag over a new anything!
ReplyDeleteWith my reception and ceremony being at the same place, sweet transportation didn't make an appearance, although I always dreamed about it. At the end of the night, when my husband and I were the last two left, we hopped into our Honda and I drove us to our hotel!
I would go for the 1940s Rolls Royce, so classy!
