Decoration Day

Monday, May 30, 2011

Decoration Day is what Americans previously called Memorial Day, a reference to the decorations we leave for our fallen soldiers. These days, Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer and plenty of grilled hamburgers, but it's wonderful to remember this celebration's beginnings, too!

Hope all of you stateside are enjoying the holiday weekend, and that all my international visitors are kicking off a terrific week!

    I had no idea that is what Memorial Day used to be call...I learned something new! :) Oh and I love red velvet cake and that one looks oh so yummy! Lovely blog!
