Cinco de Mayo!

Thursday, May 5, 2011

I know, this chocolate birthday cake probably isn't what you were expecting-you were looking forward to a killer margarita recipe (just wait until tomorrow!) and maybe a piñata or a burro. But Cinco de Mayo is not only a major Mexican holiday and excuse to drink too much tequila-it just so happens to be my sweetheart's birthday! His favorite cake is yellow with just a bit of chocolate icing, and you can be sure that's just what he'll get today!

Can't wait for my margarita recipe? I'll give you a tip: ask the barkeep to skip the orange liquor and use agave syrup instead!

  12. aw yay! happy birthday to your sweetie!

do most bars keep agave syrup?? before bethenny's skinny girl margs, i used to ask for just a bunch of fresh limes and triple sec and tequila in a glass. definitely use agave at home though!
