No 416: Real Wedding: Stephanie and Stephen

Sunday, February 28, 2010

When one talented photographer gets married and another captures it all for posterity, you can be sure there are some damn good pictures. Stephanie Fay married at the DC Ranch Country Club in Scottsdale, AZ; I think the heat was worth standing to get those incredible desert portraits! The bride wore a Jim Hjelm gown and Kate Spade shoes, with a sweet lace bolero by Holly Stalder. Petal Pushers created the lush flowers and Dina Remi, the bride's cousin, designed vintage inspired papers. The whole wedding was executed by the bride, her mother and a few close friends, and holy hell did they do a phenomenal job. Vintage tea cups and dinnerware were found at thrift stores, and a 100-year old cup topped the lovely cake. Can you believe those bird cages were bought at TJMaxx? I absolutely adore the moss-cover chair, which Stephanie and her aunt created; the contrast of rococo vintage pieces and the Arizona desert is simply stunning. And it was all masterfully captured by Jasmine Star.

No 415: the Little White Coat

I can't stop thinking about eloping, and this adorable ensemble would be the perfect thing. I love the big, plastic buttons and the charming, full veil.

How absolutely adorable are these little "lamps", made with wine glasses, vellum paper and a dash of creativity? Find the full tutorial at CasaSugar; they'd be perfect as clean, flower-free centerpieces for a wedding or even a dinner party.

No 409: the LP

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

I needed some new headshots, and Mr Wonderful joined me today for a few duo shots. We were taking a set which our stellar photographer, Betsy, suggested would also make fabulous engagement portraits, or the ideal LP cover, and we've been talking about the idea ever since! United Record Pressing actually produces custom LPs, so you could give guests your favorite love songs or, in our case, your sweetest duets.

These flags, designed by Wiley Valentine, are part of a gorgeous invitation suite. Inspired by a beautiful board, it features a quote by Voltaire:
"Love is a canvas furnished by Nature and embroidered by imagination".

No 407: Real Wedding: Allison and Mark

Sunday, February 21, 2010

Can you believe I've been sitting on this gorgeous wedding for over a year?! First spotted on Snippet and Ink, the sunny color palate, rustic setting (Atwood Ranch in Glen Ellen, CA) and glorious images, captured by Union Photography, captured my attention; it was the one of the first complete weddings in my folder. The bride wore a gown by Amsale, while the groom was dressed by Jil Sander. Heavenly flowers were designed by Anne Appleman, but these two graphic designers created all the stationery, favors (pencils printed "allison loves mark mark loves allison..." and those adorable buttons. Sage Catering served up delicious dishes on distressed white dinnerware, and a chocolate and banana cake by Fleur de Lisa was intentionally messy to give it a homemade quality. But my favorite part-that sweet truck and the incredible photographs of the newlyweds on their bicycles. Absolutely perfect.
