Real Wedding: Alicia and Ian

Sunday, November 14, 2010

I thought this gorgeous autumnal wedding was the perfect thing to feature on this beautiful Sunday morning; I went wild for the stunning floral arrangements, the divine blend of shell pinks and creams, and of course, Tec Petaja's incredible photographs. This Colorado wedding seemed the ideal indulgence before the work week begins tomorrow!

Alicia and Ian married at the Devil's Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, CO (isn't that a terrific name?) Alicia wore Christos' "Julianna" gown and added a bit of blush pink with a J.Crew embellished belt; she removed the crystal and pearl beaded cap sleeves and re-purposed them to wrap her bouquet, designed by Plum Sage Flowers. The gorgeous arrangement of peach juliet garden roses, peach stock, white ranunculus, chamomile, and dark green Israeli ruscus tips mirrored the bridesmaids' bouquets, which favored cream colored shades. The maids wore silk chiffon dresses in Deep Rose and Light Shell from J.Crew, while the groom and his friends chose J.Crew's Aldridge suits in black and gray with black ties from Brooks Brothers, and decorated their lapels with sprigs of wheat and chamomile.

The bride and groom were married by Alicia's uncle; after creating a unique ceremony and writing their own vows, they decided not to rehearse it in advance. After the couple said, "I do", guests headed to the barn to celebrate with the newlyweds. Horseshoes served as escort cards, and Ian's illustrations of horses were beautiful alternatives to traditional table numbers; they were designed by Parrott Design Studio, who also designed the stunning invitations. After a barbecue feast, they dined on a dozen organic pies from Teacup Bakery in Denver; pumpkin, apple caramel, chocolate cream, banana cream, mixed berry, peach, blueberry peach, blueberry, cherry and apple were on the menu.

This stunning wedding was designed by the newlyweds, and Alicia documented all her planning on Wedding Bee, as well as on her blog, almost crunchy. Visit both for fantastic insight, a surprisingly detailed breakdown of their budget-friendly affair and lots more photos from the amazing Tec Petaja.
