Just Married

Absolutely everything about this photo delights me-the classic car and traditional send off, the dreamy light, the dirt road and the fields of summer corn. Growing up on preserved farm land, some of my happiest memories from youthful summers include playing hide-and-seek on afternoons just like this one.

Did you play in the mud as a kid, or were your days spent in more refined settings?

  6. My mother found us one afternoon playing in the mud. I was in my pinkest, fluffiest party dress, and she was shocked to discover that while I had the largest stack of mud pies, I was also spotlessly clean!

  13. This indeed is a pretty awesome photo and does invoke great memories for me, although I didn't grow up on farmland. I definitely played in mud with my brother, he tried to make me a boy every chance he had and sometimes it worked but sometimes it didn't!

  14. Aw, that car is awesome! I used to have a dirt pile in our backyard that I would just love to play in! I wasn't much of a tomboy, but I inexplicably loved dirt.
