Real Wedding: Max and Margaux

Sunday, August 1, 2010

When an incredibly talented member of the wedding industry gets married, they have a wealth of equally gifted photographers, videographers, coordinators and musicians to call on for help. Such is the case with Max Wagner's beautiful wedding to his new bride, Margaux.

Max is part of a wedding collaborative, The Flashdance, which includes Our Labor of Love (the wedding's photographers), Ashley Meaders (the wedding's designer), Shark Pig (the wedding's videographer) and the Human Jukebox (the wedding's DJ). Pretty nice to have a built-in network of some of the country's most spectacular wedding vendors, huh?

As someone who spends other people's big day behind the camera, it's not surprising that Max and Margaux first considered elopement. Eventually, like so many other couples, they put aside their desire for privacy in order to celebrate with their friends and family. They decided to marry in a small ceremony on Friday evening followed by a big reception on Saturday, which for Margaux meant two gorgeous dresses! The skirt and backless top she wore on their wedding day was by Morgane Le Fay; the tea length cocktail dress she wore on Saturday was a Melissa Sweet creation. She accessorized both dresses with J.Crew shoes and Ban.Do headpieces for a sweet but decidedly chic wedding day weekend. But don't worry-Max had two outfits, too! A John Varvatos number for the ceremony and a Shipley & Halmos suit for the reception had the groom looking snappy.

Ashley Meaders designed the sweet fabric swing, paper heart french fry boxes, the incredible reception decorations and the wonderful signage where Max and Margaux took just a few of their divine wedding portraits. If the gorgeous design wasn't enough, the In'N'Out and Ricky's Fish Tacos trucks made this the wedding of the summer (if not the year)! JL Designs created the sunny florals, and blog darling Rifle Paper Co. designed the sweet invitations, while Jesi Haack coordinated the heartfelt event and the Sweet and Saucy Shop designed the divine dessert table.

A big thanks to Once Wed for sharing so many photos of this beautiful event!

  6. I was just curious how you made the ribbon curtain above your head? it is BEAUTIFUL. I had this idea before of something very similar to that, so I googled it and yours came up. Please let me know how you made that? Is it all ribbon or a combination or ribbon and strips of fabric? I'm so curious! Please help!!
