No 575: Real Wedding: Katie and Tyler

Sunday, June 27, 2010

This adorable wedding felt like the perfect way to celebrate the end of June; charming flowers, sweet dresses and a whole lot of style! This Oklahoma celebration was truly a family affair; the bride's parents (and their parents, and their parents before them) own Mann's Flower Shop, so Katie and her parents designed the centerpieces, Mom did the bouquets and Katie's older brother took care of ceremony decorations. The bride wore a gorgeous Ramona Keveza dress (from the Fall 2008 Legends collection), while all ten of her maids wore frocks her mom sewed from vintage Vogue patterns circa 1950!

After a traditional ceremony at St Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, the couple celebrated with friends and family at the Bricktown Events Center in downtown Oklahoma City. Tyler surprised his new wife with a vintage ride to the reception-a friend's 1920's Dodge touring car!

At the time, Katie was working for Whitney English Stationery, who provided all the paper goods. Can you imagine a better gig for a bride-to-be? They brought a garden party inside for the reception, since stormy Oklahoma summers can rarely be trusted, with lots of flowers, wrought iron furniture, tulip chairs, vintage linens and mason jars scouted from all over the Southwest. In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, the couple chose eight small cakes with simple buttercream frosting, by For Goodness Sake Bakery. And capturing each moment of this lovely wedding were Kelly and Jason White and Sarah Denbow of Aidedi Photography.

  7. Does anyone know where the bridesmaid dresses came from? I am getting married this summer, and can't find anything interesting but these are simple and have variety and fun. Anyone?
