No 554: Real Wedding: Orso and Javier

Sunday, June 13, 2010

When a beautiful Hollywood couple marries, the results are sure to be gorgeous. Orso and Javier, whose romance began on the set of Hellboy 2 (how many times can you say that?), were married at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels and celebrated at the Smog Shoppe. How many chic weddings has that place been privy to, anyway?

Orso's dear friend and bridesmaid, Reka Vago, designed her "superhero" wedding shoes; available for purchase only in Budapest, don't go getting your heart set on a pair! Hungarian traditions were beautifully highlighted during this romantic affair: homemade bread rolls called pogácsa made by Orso herself were enjoyed before dinner, and the Palinka shots made by her father were personally served by the bride to her guests. Leigh Miller's photographs are beautiful, but I think the single most stunning element of this wedding is the bride's devastating smile. No wonder Javier fell in love!

  3. I thought so, too! Although I'm not sure how much of the bottom is really cake...John, on the other hand, made a face and said, "That's not food". Men!
