No 509: Real Wedding: Jess and Marc

Sunday, May 9, 2010

After a beautiful Sunday spent in Napa, California, where Mr Wonderful and I were joined by our dear friends, A.J. and Rebecca, I wanted to find a Northern California wedding that would capture what our lovely day had been like.
I knew this was the wine country wedding to share.

Jess and Marc were married at the Carneros Inn, a stunning 27 acre properity in the heart of Napa Valley and one of the most romantic settings in the Bay area. They were married in the Apple Orchard, and celebrated their nuptials in the Hilltop Dining Room. Bride and groom were not content to let the scenery do all talking, however, and this might be the most downright stylish wedding ever. The groom wore a Christian Dior suit, adding playful Paul Smith shirt, socks and vest to the ensemble. A friend, a shoe designer for L.A.M.B., gave Marc a pair of Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, and if the groom's duds weren't fashionable enough, wait until you hear about the bride's!

Jess is a shoe designer herself, who works for Badgley Mischka; the incredible dove gray shoes she wore were her own design, inspired by the "Randee"! Can you imagine a more fantastic job than high end shoe designer? The bridesmaids were also gifted with a pair of custom shoes, designed with each girl in mind. The bride's gown was not actually a wedding dress, but a ready-to-wear piece in natural fabric by Monique Lhuillier that she zipped right up!

Sharla Flock (you'll recognize her work from her Martha Stewart Weddings covers and the blossoms she designed for Hello!Lucky founder Eunice's gorgeous wedding) created the beautiful arrangements. The delicately striped tulips nestled into julep cups are as near to nirvana as I think is safe. Jenne Hohn Events executed this incredible affair, and the lovely papers were made by Baumbirdy. There to capture this stunning event in its entirety was Rebecca of Docuvitae, easily one of the most gifted photojournalists I've ever seen.

Have I convinced you to come to Napa yet?

  1. That dress!!!!! I would never take that dress off ever again! You would seriously find me vacuuming the house and making dinner in that dress three months after the wedding. Stunning!!
And I adore Napa, we honeymooned in the area, it was the best week of our lives! Definitely planning to go back!!

  5. Yes you have. Her dress, her shoes, the pre-ceremony see each other pictures...it's all so perfect.

  6. I always thought the "First Look" photos were a little tricky, and that they spoiled the incredible moment when the groom sees his bride walking up the aisle, but these photos changed my mind. I think it's something about how honest this couple appears, even in front of the photographer. I'm still sighing happily when I scroll through it!
