No 425: Real Wedding: Taylor and Jonathan

Sunday, March 7, 2010

I love a beautiful wedding, but I swooned when I realized-I know where they are! Taylor and Jonathan were married at the Highland Park Presbyterian Church and held their garden reception at the Nasher Sculpture Center in downtown Dallas, TX. I love that Jonathan's father walked Taylor down the aisle; it shows such love and committment, not only between the newlyweds but their families as well. But no single element in a wedding has made me cry like the father-in-law/daughter dance, to "Somewhere over the Rainbow".

Their getaway car, a vintage NYC taxi, was the perfect choice since Jonathan, affectionately known as Chase, proposed to Taylor in one in Manhattan. The bride worn an ethereal gray gown by J.Mendel, stunning heels by Azzedine Alaia and her clutch (seen hanging on the back of her chair, along with Superga sneakers) was made by Chanel. Taylor also gave her bridesmaids a pair of canvas kicks to better dance the night away in, but refrained from wearing her own until brunch the next morning. She did, however, slip into an Alexander McQueen sheath by the end of the evening to make their getaway a little more comfortable.

There was dinner and dancing under the stars and twinkling lights strung through the trees, after which guests enjoyed a five-tier tower of vanilla cake with strawberry filling, topped with dozens of luscious pink and white peonies, created by Le Gateau Cakery. Stephen Karlisch captured all these gorgeous images, and Martha Stewart Weddings featured this magical event in their Spring issue.
