No 162: the Happiest Pug

Sunday, June 28, 2009

My Spugglet is here! He surprised me today at work, and I could not be more blissful.

No 161: the Sahara Rose

Friday, June 26, 2009

I think Sahara roses are so incredibly beautiful, and these Karen Tran floral designs are so outrageous! I don't think I could really rock the feathered bouquet, and I'm not sure what 6 year old in a short pants suit could really carry that rose pillow, but they just sumptuous. They're the perfect creamy, antiqued rose.

No 160: the Perfect Evening

Photos c/o GQ and Martha Stewart. Aren't those floral arrangements absolutely perfect?

No 159: the Ballet Road

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

I guess I'm on a ballet kick this week, between the loveliness of tutus and my excitement about the Dew Fairy come fall. Photo c/o Capital File.

No 158: the Dying Swan

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel created a tutu for Elena Glurdjidze, who will dance the Dying Swan with the English National Ballet, a role created by Ballets Russes choreographer Mikhail Fokine for Anna Pavlova in 1905. The most breathtaking video of her can be found on the Chanel website and while I know it's not directly wedding related, it is sublime.

No 157: the Hydrangeas

No 155: Real Wedding: Dagney and Michael

I know, it's amazing. It's as if Richard Gere and Debra Winger had a gorgeous wedding at the hanger in Pensacola! The shots of them beside the plane are truly to die for, and the vintage luggage is the perfect touch. This classic couple was married in Trumbull, CT and celebrated at the Oxford Airport in Oxford, CT. Designed by Jubilee Events and captured by Robert and Kathleen Photographers, I think Audrey will agree this is one event that uses yellow without looking like an eight year old's Crayola fantasy. I especially love the vintage Porsche-my daddy had one just like it. Happy Father's Day.

No 154: the Rehearsal Dinner

I absolutely adore the idea of a Mexican rehearsal dinner, and this one, spotted on Style Me Pretty, is perfection. Photographed by Aaron Delesie and styled by Oh How Charming!, I love the colors, the details and more than anything else, the fun. Since your rehearsal dinner will be full of the people closest to you and most integral in planning your wedding, don't you want to throw them a wonderful party? Fish tacos and Pacifico sounds like a phenomenal party to me.

No 153: the Postage

Friday, June 19, 2009

Precious new 44 cent stamps available for purchase here. I think the way they're looking at each other is adorable.

No 152: the Kiss

No 148: the Most Luscious Table Setting

Thursday, June 11, 2009

I absolutely adore these berry stained images by Corbin Gurkin Photography and Duet Weddings. The lovely invitations were designed by Ceci New York and the flowers by Camille Panzarello of Modern Day Design. The vintage glassware is so gorgeous, and I am tickled by the sheet music place settings.

No 147: Miss Dior Chérie

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

An image from the Miss Dior Chérie Commercial. It's the perfect bridal shower inspiration, or the ideal first day of a Parisian honeymoon.

No 146: the Most Divine Etsy Creations Ever

Saturday, June 6, 2009

Rohm, an Etsy seller, is a truly gifted craftsman based out of Chicago. Her bridal pieces are one of a kind and made-to-order, and as you can see, they're incredibly beautiful. Simple silhouettes, high quality fabrics-those are the things that give a garment real value, and what's even more amazing is the price of these custom made corsets. The Classic Bridal Corset, seen above is only $375! While there aren't many skirt options listed on the website right now, more are on their way. Below, the elbow-length Mantilla, Lace Bridal Shrug, Wedding Night Corset and the Scalloped Bridal Shrug. I've been drooling over these photos for nearly a week now, and I'm so glad I finally get to share them. I admit, I was holding out on you.

No 145: Alix & Kelly

Friday, June 5, 2009

I absolutely adore these gowns. While I'd probably never be the girl to wear one, they're so fabulous, and they're perfect for showing off a well-sculpted torso. Made by Alix & Kelly, a clothing company based out of L.A., they do all kinds of enchanting formal wear. In fact, the gowns in silk chiffon are pretty damn dreamy.

No 144: Modern Romance

These incredible little boleros are from Modern Romance, an Etsy seller from Portland, OR, home of all things crafty. The red silk shoulder wrap is amazing, and you can also see it in white on the website. How drop-dead gorgeous would that be with a little black cocktail dress?

No 143: the Perfect Evening Bag

Thursday, June 4, 2009

Felix Rey is a Manhattan based handbag brand which does a few singular things for weddings and a whole host of other great things, too, including all kinds of bags, cosmetic cases, umbrellas-the works, essentially. The clutch above is the Lola Clutch W. Bow (see also Lola Clutch W. Tuille Flowers which is not as good) and I think it's absolutely adorable.

No 142: more J.Crew!

Wednesday, June 3, 2009

I must admit, I've been off J.Crew lately. The super classic aesthetic seemed to be missing, replaced by Obama madness, and while plenty of it was cute, I wasn't going to be spending what little disposable income I have on a beaded 3/4 length foliage printed cardigan. But obviously I've been won back, and the shoes have done me in, in addition to some perfect pieces they're showing for summer (Linen knotted jacket, 3" horizon striped short). The first pair are the Lyla suede peep toe and the second is the Floret patent slingback. I think they'd be a perfect addition to a classic white shirtdress for your engagement party, or the bon voyage brunch.

No 141: a J.Crew Fall Preview

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

The fall previews on J.Crew are here! I absolutely worship the first dress, the gorgeous beaded confection, and the lace detail across the back on the third dress is incredible. Plus the pleating on that bridesmaid dress is outrageous; it's perfect for a modern, structural wedding.
