No 329: the Return to Blogging

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

My apologies for the long sojourn from blogging-with a week of non-stop performances and then a week of internet outage in my Christmas-ready home, La Petite Coquin was much neglected. But I'm back, and so glad.

So with Christmas just around the corner, John and I have decked out the apartment in holiday finery: a wreath, decorated with juniper berries and pine cones on the front door, lengths of garland hanging over the armoire which faces our bed and a perfect 6 foot pine tree which we lugged back to the homestead on a bus! It's lit with white lights (the only appropriate choice for Christmas lights, unless the colored bulbs are enormous and circa 1956) and we found gold balls of every texture to twinkle. My parents brought some of my favorite ornaments, and we've added a few this season, including a wonderful DIY gingerbread couple, a gift from John's phenomenal Aunt Jenny.

In the very few days before Noel, I'll be featuring some wonderful, wintery wedding treats, and expect much more through the holiday season! Lovely photo by Amanda, one of the photographers on Millie Holloman's team.
