No 230: the Infusion Jars

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Infusion jars full of lemonades, limeades and fruit teas have been all the rage on the wedding blog circuit this summer. The person who has fallen victim most seriously to this trend is John, who bought two such jars at World Market (which is, by the way, a heavenly place that I recommend you visit). One is at the family compound in Dallas, Texas, where Bulliet bourbon has been stewing with cherries and vanilla bean to make a potent addition to a Coca Cola classic.

The other is sitting, empty, on our kitchen counter. Lemonade would be lovely, but I'm quite sure we wouldn't be able to drink an entire jar full before it got lukewarm. John's pushing for the bourbon concoction, and I don't know how much longer I'll be able to dissuade him. But we agree that jars full of pink lemonade and sweet tea would be perfect for our late spring wedding.
