No 229: to Have or Not to Have

Thursday, September 10, 2009

A signature cocktail is the recommended way to cut down on the costs of an open bar without making guests feel slighted. But does it really accomplish much? Unless your signature cocktail is a mint julep in Kentucky or a margarita in Texas, you can't be entirely sure it will be a hit. My cocktail preferences can seem a little unusual to the normal drinking populace, and if John had a signature drink, it would be an Old Fashioned-we are not exactly a signature cocktail-friendly couple. But it can be a great way to introduce your drinking styles to your guests, if this is something you find appealing. I guess my personal jury is still out.
