Another Hayes Valley favorite, Miette! Above are the Old Fashioned cupcakes, with bittersweet chocolate cake and marshmallow-y icing, but they also carry more traditional buttercream cupcakes and some truly incredible cakes. My favorites are the Princess cake (genoise sponge cake with raspberry eau de vie, homemade raspberry jam, pastry cream and whipped cream all wrapped up a green-tinted white chocolate fondant and topped with a pink rose) and the Bumblebee Cake (yellow cake with chocolate frosting that always reminds me of my sweetheart).
